UK Staycations 2022. Are Brits Still Holidaying In The UK?

Staycations are predicted to remain a popular holiday choice in 2022!

The lifting of Covid restrictions that limited international travel have put overseas holidays back on the map, but brits are still showing an increasing desire for staycations.

Although Covid restrictions have been lifted brits are seeing a massive amount of disruption for overseas travel. With flights being delayed and cancelled at the last minute due to staff shortages. Others are experiencing large queues at airport security causing flights to be missed and holidays ruined.

Several travel experts have said they believe the disruption is prompting UK tourists to opt for staycations. The cost of living crisis is also thought to be influencing people to holiday closer to home. Although this is not always the cheaper option.

Taking a UK staycation is always the safer option and there are so many places in Britain to visit. Whether it be an adventure holiday, family beach holiday or just somewhere away from home to relax.

Virtual Roadtripz

Over the past five months Tripz’s Virtual Roadtripz has been suggesting locations to visit using less than a full tank of fuel. Starting in Great Yarmouth and travelling up the East Coast we have visited great UK holiday resorts like Skegness, Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby. Go to our @tripz pages on Facebook and Instagram to read more, and see the other places we have virtually visited.

Brits Love Their Pets

Another reason why people are opting for the staycation is pets. During the pandemic there was a rise in pet adoptions and we are seeing more pet friendly establishments.

Although there has been an increase in over night pet care facilities, there is a shortage and this option can be costly.

Here at Tripz.uk we understand how important pets are and would like you to enjoy your UK staycation with all the family including your furry friends. Our motorhomes are pet friendly. Like most places we have introduced a few rules, these are outlined in our pet policy.

Do I have to decide yet?

As staycations are still popular in the UK and the overseas travel industry struggles with it’s many challenges, now is the time to make that decision. Staycations or Holiday Abroad!

The UK campsite booking platform Pitchup.com says that so far this year bookings are up 40% compared with last year. This points to another huge season for the UK staycation.

Booking early will secure the motorhome you want, on the dates you want, at the location you want.
