Mincing it up: 3 Meals Sorted
Mince is a quick and easy motorhome meal and a family fav. First-night cook-up and the next few meals sorted, try 3-way mince:
Munchies 1: Chilli Nachos or Dogs
Dinner 2: Bolognese
Dinner 3: Chilli
How we’d do it:
We’d start the cooking at home, just makes life easier, less cooking, chopping and washing-up when you get to your campsite or final destination.
Fry 1 large pack of mince until browned.
Add-in and Fry chopped onions, peppers, garlic, grated carrots, and any other veggies.
Cool and portion into sealed bags, pop into the motorhome fridge.
Once you’re parked–up and set-up you can easily add other ingredients & spices to rustle up and yummy meal.
Chilli dogs always go down a storm with family and friends when we arrive.
Who doesn’t love a Toastie!
Perfect for a snack or light motorhome lunch.
How do you have yours?
- Cheese and Ham
- Cheese and Chorizo
- Cheese and Tomato
- Cheese and Beans
- Cheese and Cranberry
Cheese and Ham is popular with our family
And, cooking them in the motorhome is quick and easy.
Here’s how we do it:
Slightly healthier grill option: toast bread (sliced or pitta) under the grill, then fill with yumminess (suggestions above) and pop back under the grill until cheese starts to melt.
More indulgent (less healthy) hob option: butter bread on the outside, fill the sandwich with yumminess and then fry butter side down in a dry frying pan until golden and cheese has melted.
And, if you’ve time to russsell up a winter warmer before you hit the trails here’s a great dish we love and our vegan mates do too.
One Pot Pepper, Tomatoes and Beans.
Can Of Mix Beans
Carrot, Onion, Peppers
Garlic to Taste
Chilli flakes (if you like it hot) or not.
One-Pot meal is done in approx. 20 min yum!
How we’d cook it:
Large frying or saucepan (depending on how many you’re cooking for)
Medium heat, fry garlic, carrots, onions until soft.
Add peppers and continue to fry for approx.5 mins
Add tinned tomatoes, mixed beans and add half a can of water (chilli and herbs to taste)
Leave to simmer on medium / low heat for approx. 10 – 15 mins.
The great thing about this dish is you can cook and serve or cook, leave to cool, pop into containers so it’s ready to eat when you are!
