Whether it’s exploring the scenic countryside or strolling through charming towns, having your pet by your side makes the adventure even more special. Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for a successful journey with your pet:

Essential Requirements for Traveling with Pets

1. Pet Passport or Animal Health Certificate

To travel to Europe with your pet, you’ll need either:

  • An Animal Health Certificate (AHC) issued by a vet no more than 10 days before you travel.
  • A valid Pet Passport, but only if it was issued in the EU or Northern Ireland. UK-issued pet passports are no longer valid for EU travel.

More details about these requirements can be found on the UK Government Pet Travel page.

2. Microchipping

Your pet must be microchipped, and the chip details must match the information on their travel documents. Make sure the chip is readable before your journey.

3. Rabies Vaccination

Your pet needs to be vaccinated against rabies at least 21 days before travel. Ensure you have the vaccination record handy, as border officials may ask to see it.

4. Tapeworm Treatment (Dogs Only)

If you’re traveling to specific countries like Finland, Ireland, or Malta, your dog will require a tapeworm treatment administered by a vet 1-5 days before entry. Check specific country requirements on the Pet Travel Scheme page.

5. Border Checks

When entering Europe, you must present your pet’s documents at a designated travellers’ point of entry. Ensure you know the correct point for your destination.

Jason Slater and Simon Wadsworth finished the day 9th and 14th respectively in the Novice Class. Gaining valuable experience on what was a very challenging track layout.

The team we’re helped by the wonderful Franco Mollo, owner of the KTM MTR World Supermoto Championship Team. Franco added a level of professionalism to the team along with his vast knowlegde and experience of World Championship Racing.

Day 2 Tripz.uk British Supermoto Championship

Day 2 was the British Championship and it was the turn of Simon Wadsworth to take a win in race 2 of the C class. This moved him up a group to the B class with fellow Team member Jason Slater for the last race.

Tension grew with 3 team members drawing for the overall Clubman Class win, going into the last race. It was Paul Groom who took 1st place with Chris Walker 2nd and Harley Sharp 3rd. A Tripz.uk Racing clean sweep!

In the Over 45 class another full podium for Tripz.uk with the ever so skilful Richard Sharp taking 1st place. Chris Walker 2nd place and Paul Groom rounding filling the podium in 3rd place.

With just one team rider in the Under 21 Class, Harley Sharp put on a good show taking 3rd place.

Jay Smith, Richard Sharp, Chris walker, Paul Groom and Harley Sharp all made the Elite Class. Jay Smith finished 2nd place overall. Richard took 4th place, after a fall in race 2 and an epic win in the final race of the weekend.

With strong results for all the Team we are looking forward to Round 2 at Teeside Autodrome 4th & 5th May.

Round 2, Teeside Autodome, 4th & 5th May 2024

Day 1 Tripz.uk National Supermoto Championship

On day 1, team boss Chris Walker carried on where he left off in round 1, racing on a shortened track due to wet weather from a storm the night before getting 1st in the Clubman National Championship. He was followed by fellow Team riders Harley Sharp 2nd and Paul Groom 3rd rounding out the podium.

In the Elites Tripz.uk team rider Jay Smith took 1st overall with our other rider Richard Sharp coming in 3rd. Both showing great skills in such a stacked field of riders.

Simon Wadsworth had good day finishing 5th in the Novice class while Jason Slater had a day of issues with his bike.

Joining the Tripz.uk team this weekend was Josh Walker setting out for his first race in the Junior Minis at age 9. Being the first time he’s ever ridden an 85cc bike we think he did remarkable well and managed 2nd place in his group.

Day 2 Tripz.uk British Supermoto Championship

The main Elite races were action packed but once again Jay Smith stayed out of trouble getting 2nd place in all 3 races but taking the overall group win for the day. With Richard Sharp’s race bike’s engine failing he jumped on Chris Walker’s spare bike and rode incredibly taking the last race win in convincing style and coming 3rd overall. Chris Walker had some of his best results since his return to the sport only to be collected by another rider with both crashing hard on the last lap of the last race. Harley Sharp who’s following in his dad’s footsteps also had some strong races ending up 11th in the elites and 3rd in the hotly contested under 21 class.

With the points stacking up from qualifying for the Elite races Chris Walker took the second place trophy and Harley Sharp 3rd place for the British Clubman Class. While our other team member Paul Groom had a respectable 5th place.

Jason Slater managed to over come his bike issues and rode into 5th in the Novice group. Simon Wadsworth dropped a few points after a crash in the last race with Chris Lambourne.

While our new Tripz.uk team member Josh Walker went out for the first time in the Supermoto Academy.

It’s a quick turn around with only 3 weeks to round 3 at Rowrah Karting Circuit 25th & 26th May.

Round 3, Rowrah Circuit 25th & 26th May

Day 1 Tripz.uk National Supermoto Championship

Round 3 was up in the Lake District at the very tight and technical Rowrah Circuit.

Chris walker carried on his strong form, winning the clubman class and teammate Paul Groom finished 4th. Good for a track Paul isn’t too keen on. Harley Sharp’s 2nd race was spoilt with technical problems, but he still managed 8th overall to keep his championship hopes alive.

In the Elites it was Richard Sharp who got pole in qualifying and in such a tight front running group ended up the day in 4th place. Jay Smith brought home his KTM in 7th place on the day with a few issues and bike set up problems. He then collected in a huge crash after the finish line was lucky to walk away. Both Richard and Jay are still on the championship hunt.

Simon Wadsworth was 5th in the Novice class but showing great speed on the tarmac his results will improve.

Josh Walker showed great improvement in only his second round, coming in 2nd place in the Junior Mini Class.

Day 2 Tripz.uk British Supermoto Championship

Young Josh Walker on his 85cc bike was masterful over the very tricky tarmac step up jump and slashing his lap times by huge chunks. Each time out he got well inside the top 10 only for a couple of slip offs knocking his results back a little. He’s fast getting the hang of it and hungry for more !!!

Chris walker had 3 strong rides to win the clubman class again and Harley Sharp was third on the podium improving in each race. He also took 3rd place in the under21 championship.

In the Over 45 class it was a Tripz clean sweep again with Richard Sharp 1st, Chris walker 2nd and Paul Groom 3rd.

The main Elite races were so close with only 0.5 of a second splitting the top five lap times. With passing other riders being extremely difficult the starts were crucial, but the reverse grid specialist Richard Sharp got it mastered and won the final race of the day and took 3rd overall . Leading the championship going into this round Jay smith had some bad luck while running up front and collected a rear wheel puncture causing a DNF. He finished the day in 11th place overall but it’s a long season and he’s only 9 points down from the championship leader and in 3rd behind teammate Richard Sharp in 2nd .

Simon Wadsworth had a fantastic 3rd in the final race and his best result to date!

Round 4 is at Crail on the East coast of Scotland and hopefully should suit our riders more as it has a longer and better dirt sections and flowing tarmac. All riders are still in strong championship positions and it’s all to play for!!

Round 4, Crail Raceway, 22nd & 23rd June

Day 1 Tripz.uk National Supermoto Championship

Round 4 took place in bonnie Scotland at Crail Raceway .

For this round Tripz Racing had a guest rider Ricky Grimshaw, who qualified in 6th place for his races.

Chris Walker took the overall win for the clubman class after qualifying 13th and making the A group. Harley Sharp & Paul Groom also qualified in the A group then finished 3rd & 4th consecutively in the Clubman’s. Chris Lambourne only made the B races but still managed a great 7th overall.

Jay Smith qualified 4th in the Elites while Richard Sharp qualified 6th, although after some great racing the standing changed and Richard took 4th place overall with Jay coming in 5th.

Simon Wadsworth & Jay Slater took 7th & 8th place in the Novice Championship, while our guest rider Ricky could only make it to 23rd. Better luck next time Ricky.

Our young rider Josh Walker tried slick tyres for the first time and came in 3rd place in the Junior Mini Class.

Day 2 Tripz British Supermoto Championship

This round wasn’t the best for our team with Paul Groom having a massive crash in his first race while Richard Sharp took a great 3rd place in his first race but also had a crash in the second race which broke his collarbone. We’re hoping both riders will be fit for the John Blakeman Memorial Round 13th &14th July at Three Sisters.

Chris Walker also crashed out of the first race but with no injuries still managed to make the following 2 races.

Coming in 2nd overall in the Clubman’s Class was Harley Sharp with Chris Lambourne getting another great 7th Place.

Jay Smith kept his championship alive with a massive 3rd place in the Elite’s just behind Jamie Duncan and Chris Hodgson.

In the Novice group Jason Slater qualified in the B group taking a respectable 9th place in the first race. While Simon Wadsworth struggled for the day only making it out for 1 race.

Josh Walker also crashed in his first race but made it back on to the bike and managed to finish all 3 races taking 17th place in the Academy.

Another massive thank you to Geoff Brooks for the great photography, to see more photos from this round follow this link https://www.flickr.com/photos/197884432@N02/albums/.

Round 5, Three Sister’s Race Circuit, 13th & 14th July

Day 1, Bristish Supermoto Championship

A new dirt section had been built which meant strong qualifying for all the riders. Jay Smith, Richard Sharp, Chris walker, Harley Sharp and Paul Groom all made the A races from the off.
Jay Smith ended the day 4th after a couple of mistakes and Richard Sharp 5th only 3 weeks after breaking his collarbone in the last round!

Chris Walker dominated all the Clubman races and ended a season best with 7th overall. Paul Groom also back from his big crash at Crail was 3rd in the Clubman Class and 12th in the British Championship Elites. Harley Sharp was 4th in Clubman Class showing really good pace now, but a couple of little falls held him back.

Chris ‘Proff’ Lambourne was on pole in the B’s and won convincingly moving him into the A races for the first time this season.

Struggling with small mistakes and confidence Jason Slater and Simon Wadsworth were 10th and 12th respectively in the Novice Class.

In the results for the Over 45’s Class it was Richard Sharp taking 1st, with Chris Walker 2nd and Paul Groom 4th.

Harley Sharp had a strong 2nd place in the Under 21’s class.

Josh Walker continued with huge improvements getting two 10th in the Supermoto Academy Class and enjoying the new dirt section.

Day 2 National Championship

The track was a completely new layout and made for some fantastic close racing.

Harley Sharp and Chris Lambourne both sat this one out due to other engagements.

Josh Walker had a good day on the tarmac only Junior Minibikes Class coming in 3rd overall. He just need to perfect his racing starts then he’ll hit the top spot.

Jay Smith was in dominant form and won all three Elite races, while Richard Sharp was a safe and consistent 5th.
Chris Walker won the Clubman Class and also made top ten in the Elite Class with a great 6th place in the last race. Paul Groom took 3rd overall in the Clubman Class.

In the Novice Class, Simon Wadsworth and Jason Slater again took a few tumbles and need to re-group and find the form they had earlier in the year.

Round 6 is at the famous Oliver mount in Scarborough August Bank holiday.

We would like to say a massive thank you to Scimitar Sports for coming along a getting some great team pictures and supplying our team clothing.
