August’s Motorhome Munchies, more ideas and recipes for this barbecue season. Fun to make with a bit of novelty too.

This month we’ve shared easy fun recipes, adding flavours and new techniques to your barbecue cooking.

All Purpose Marinade

Whatever the meat whatever the weather, grill, fry, oven bake or bbq here’s a simple tasty marinade!

Marinade for two average pieces of meat.

All you need:
• 1 garlic clove crushed
• 2 tablespoons soy sauce
• 2 tablespoons lime juice
• 2 tablespoons olive oil

How we’d make them:
👩‍🍳 Mix all the ingredients together in a medium bowl.
👩‍🍳 Add the meat of your choice and coat well.
👩‍🍳 Leave to marinade for a couple of hours or more.
👩‍🍳 Cook using your prefer method.

Tasty yum yum 😋😃.

Beer Can Chicken 🍻

It’s time for something a quirky!

Here’s a dish to impress at the barbecue.

All you need:
• 1.8 – 2kg Whole Chicken (giblets removed)
• 440ml Can of beer
• Salt & Peeper
• Olive oil
• Thyme

How we’d make them:
👩‍🍳 Prepare the bbq so the chicken will fit with the lid over & preheat to medium.
👩‍🍳 Pour half the beer into a glass (you can drink this 😋).
👩‍🍳 Lower the chicken onto the half full beer can, with the legs pointing down.
👩‍🍳 Mix the salt, pepper and thyme in a bowl then rub it over the chicken.
👩‍🍳 Brush the chicken all over with olive oil.
👩‍🍳 Stand the beer can & chicken on the bbq & cover.
👩‍🍳 Cook for 1hr 30min – 2hrs until the chicken is cooked through (no pink meat).
👩‍🍳 Once cooked carefully remove from the bbq (the beer can will be very hot) & serve.

Result! Great tasting, tender, falling-off-the-bone meat, encased in salty, herby, crispy skin 😋😋😋.

Babybel Burgers 🍔

Making you’re own burgers is easy, here’s a recipe to to make them extra special.

All you need:
• Beef Mince
• Onion (finely chopped)
• Salt & Peeper
• Garlic (finely chopped)
• Babybels

How we’d make them:
👩‍🍳 Mix the the mince, onion & garlic together in a bowl and season with salt & pepper.
👩‍🍳 Knead the mixture to squeeze out any air (this holds the burgers together).
👩‍🍳 Split in to equal size balls then add a babybel to the middle.
👩‍🍳 Press into burger patties keeping the babybel hidden.
👩‍🍳 Cook on the bbq for 15 – 20 mins turning once.
👩‍🍳 Once cooked add to a bread bun with your favourite relish.

MmmMmm Mmm melt in the middle cheese burgers 😋😋😋.

Smoky Bbq Clams

Have you tried barbecuing shellfish!

Try this recipe for a smoky hit.

All you need:
• Clean clams
• Herb butter
• Chives (chopped)
• Lemon Juice

How we’d make them:
👩‍🍳 Place the clams on the bbq grill.
👩‍🍳 Cook for about 6 – 8 minutes or until they open.
👩‍🍳 Lift them off the grill keeping as much juice in as possible.
👩‍🍳 Place them in a dish with a knob of herb butter a dash of lemon juice and a sprinkle of chives..

Serve as they are or add to your favourite pasta.

Easy & tasty 😋.

Blackberry Bbq Sauce

Blackberries are out, here a reason to pick some!

All you need:
• 450g blackberries
• 225g ketchup
• 50g honey
• 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
• ½ teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
• 1 teaspoon dry mustard
• ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes

How we’d make them:
👩‍🍳 Place all ingredients in a saucepan.
👩‍🍳 Simmer over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until berries are broken down.
👩‍🍳 Pour into a sieve over a heat proof container.
👩‍🍳 Push sauce through sieve with a spatula or a spoon and discard the seeds & pulp.
👩‍🍳 Allow the sauce to cool.

Great for making sticky, fruity barbecue chicken wings, just brush on the sauce when the wings have a few minutes left to cook.

We know how important it is to you that we allow furry friends into our Motorhomes, that’s why we do!

We want you to enjoy adventures together, providing of course you and your pet abide by our house rules outlined here and, in our terms and conditions, to which you must agree.

  • You agree your Pet will not be left in the Motorhome unattended.
  • You will not allow your pet on any of the soft furnishings or upholstery (including the beds, seats / sofas)
  • You will return our Motorhome in a clean and tidy condition as if your pet was never present.
  • You agree if you return our Motorhome unclean/untidy, if it is evident your pet was present, and if any pet hairs are found, cleaning charges and upholstery cleaning charges will apply. The minimum charge for this is £100.00
  • You agree to cover the cost of all damage caused by a pet, even if it exceeds the Security Deposit (as outlined in section 13 of our terms and conditions)
